spring came early

Spring came early and we couldn't have been more excited about it.
It's different for me this year...experiencing spring with a little buddy.  Everything is new and everything is exciting!
Well....let's just say it took a while to warm up to things like walking on grass, mulch and dirt ;)
But, we made it!  These things are not so scary anymore.
We kinda like it now.
Spring is also good for special treats..
 and precious moments.

1 year photos

Take a look at Luciana's ONE year photo shoot.  These are the faces we get each day.  Love our silly girl!

little girl

It happened....like everyone said it would.
You went from my little baby to my little girl.
I was caught off guard when I looked at your age ticker at the top of the blog.
One day it said, "our baby" and the next it said, "our toddler."
Oh Lu, you are our sweet and might I add very spunky toddler.
Gone are the baby days....and you know what?
I LOVE this new stage with you!

Catching up...
We celebrated Pop's birthday.  I made dad his favorite, cherry chip cake.  Luci loved the frosting :)
Thijs and Liam decorated the cake...
and Liam found a wrestling buddy.
Meet the new member of the family, Daisy :)  Can you see her in this picture?
We celebrated Sherry's birthday...
Luci liked Nana's water bottle.
We celebrated Austin, our Marine!
Luci didn't want Austin to put her down :)  She loved his hat too :)
I love this cousin shot (minus Anna, she was playing her championship basketball game)

naps and the potty :)

*random post :)*

I don't think there is anything better than going to get Luci when she wakes up.  This mommy loves walking in to this smiley face and sweet sleepy eyes.  Lots of smooching and snuggling occurs after nap time.
In other Cunningham news....our girl has been indicating that she "knows" what going potty means.
So....her father decided that we needed to put her on the potty where she would let out the occasional toot and giggle.
I asked Sarah if the potty chair could be passed down to the youngest cousin since Grey is doing his thing like a champ.  The first morning I put her on the chair she went!  What?  Probably not going to happen again, right?!  Later that afternoon I got a picture from my mom and Luci went poo and pee on the potty!  Crazy, huh?  Every day since she has performed at least once for us.  I know she really doesn't understand what she's doing but we'll keep it up and see where it goes!
Her favorite book of choice while waiting to do her business is Biscuit.  You know, "biscuit is small, biscuit is yellow..."  I think we have that book memorized and so does Lu.  She does the "woof, woof!"  Girl cracks us up!
