Labor Day Weekend...playing catch up

We had an awesome Labor Day weekend relaxing at the lake.  One final hurrah before the new school year began.  It was low key and just what we wanted.  Luci got lots of love from Pop and Grandma and we loved getting away with nothing to do but hang with our sweetie.

A quick pit stop on the way to get some Wendy's and change the girl into her jammies.
We have learned to try and travel during her sleep times.  Makes it easier for everyone :)
Lulu's crib is at the foot of our bed.  What could be better than waking up to this?!

good morning happy girl!
Mom got a new toy delivered while we were there.  The Ranger is awesome and will be a fun ride for all the grand kids next summer.  I envision lots of outings discovering new trails, trips to Superior and berry picking.  Luci got to test it out for her cousins and she loved it.

Always something for the big guy to tear down!
I can't believe Chad has been coming up for nine years and has never been to the Soo Locks!  Here they are hun!  ha!

Who can resist some fudge?  Not us :)

We tried out a new hole in the wall drive-in with awesome burgers.  We'll go back :)

Mom and the Mule...it holds a very special place in all of our hearts.  The Mule was Grandpa Philburns toy for bating his black bear.  The Mule got lots of love in the woods at Piatt.  So many good memories.
These pictures are from 2004 out at Grandpas property.  Look at how little the Reed kids are?!  Grandpa loved showing us around his woods.
Grandpa and Jen.  I believe on this occasion Grandpa took down a wasp nest with his bare hands.  We miss you Grandpa.

Luci got a lot stronger this weekend and continued to work on her crawling, flipping and standing :)

Family ride in the rain.
So long for now Piatt Lake.  See ya next summer!
